A Maryland man who opened fire during a fight with security guards at an area grocery store has been released from the hospital and is now facing charges. Rasheed Franklin, 30, of Glen Burnie, is facing multiple assault charges following a midday altercation that broke out outside an Elkridge store last Friday. 7-Year-Old Shoots Himself: Newark PD
A 7-year-old boy was hospitalized after shooting himself in the hand in Newark on Monday, Aug. 25, authorities said. At 10:50 a.m., police responded Newark Beth Israel Medical Center on a call of a 7-year-old boy arriving there with his parent for treatment of a self-inflicted gunshot injury to the hand, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. The incident occurred at a residence in the 300 block of Clinton Place, where the child located a family member’s firearm, Miranda said. The incident remains under investigation, Miranda said.

A 40-year-old Newark woman was fatally struck by a vehicle that witnesses say was speeding and driving in the wrong direction while she was walking her dog on Friday, Aug. 22, authorities said.
