Massive Thanksgiving Search For Tappan Zee Jumper Ends With No Trace
A report of a person who jumped from the Tappan Zee Bridge led to an hour-long search effort in the Hudson River. The call came in around 11:40 p.m. on Thanksgiving night, Nov. 28, according to the Piermont Fire Department. Crews from Piermont, along with several police and fire departments, were dispatched to the scene, in addition to Piermont’s marine unit which responded with eight divers and three additional team members. A 44-year-old East Orange woman was last seen Friday, Nov. 21, authorities said. Asha Crocker was last seen at 9 a.m. wearing a black long coat, red scarf, turban on head, black jeans, East Orange police said.. She is 5'4" and weighs 150 lbs., police said. A large search operation is underway after a motorist reported seeing someone jump from the Route 72 Causeway Bridge on Tuesday, Nov. 25, authorities said A caller contacted law enforcement and reported they had witnessed a subject jump off the bridge around 10:10 p.m., Stafford Township police said.
