A New Jersey man and newly-retired New York State Police employee was shot and killed by his neighbor in Upstate New York who then killed his wife, and then himself, in a post-Christmas tragedy, according to officials and those who loved him. Robert "Bob" Bork, a 79-year-old High Bridge crossing guard struck and killed by a car last week is being remembered for his dedication to helping others. Bork was hit by a southbound vehicle on County Road 513 at the intersection of Larrison Avenue last Wednesday, Nov. 28, according to the High Bridge Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office. A man was attacked by a beaver while fishing in Raritan Township on Thursday, Nov. 7, authorities said. A 54-year-old Flemington man said he was fishing in the South Branch Raritan River when he noticed a beaver swimming nearby, Raritan Township police said. At 5:15 p.m., the Holland Township Police Department responded to a report of a body found in the Musconetcong River, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office said.. Police have identified the fisherman who went missing and was later found dead in a New Jersey lake. Valeri Malov, of Pine Brook, had gone fishing in the body of water behind an industrial complex on Chapin Road Saturday morning, Aug. 24, Montville Police Chief Andrew Caggiano said.
