Two men who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the marijuana grow house explosion that killed FDNY Battalion Chief Michael Fahy, a Westchester resident and Rockland native, have been sentenced to prison. Authorities dashed from the east side of Manhattan to the west after a boat captain told police he saw a car go off a heliport pier into the water. They found nothing. An initial report that the car went into the East River off a heliport parking lot near Wall Street was changed to one at 12th Avenue and 30th Street, off the West Side Highway -- after responders first went to an east side heliport. Bergen, Passaic Buses Collide In Lincoln Tunnel, Dozens Injured
A total of 32 people complained of injury after two NJ Transit buses -- one originating in Oradell and the other in Wayne -- collided in the Lincoln Tunnel heading into Manhattan, the FDNY reported. Both buses continued through the tube and emerged on the city side, where firefighters and EMS conducted triage. A 33-year-old Fairfield County man was the pilot and sole survivor of a helicopter that crashed in the East River in Manhattan, killing five, according to multiple sources. Richard Vance of Danbury was the only person to escape the crash around 7 p.m., Sunday, as the Eurocopter AS350, he was piloting went down near 88th Street. Coast Guard Beaches Six Barges That Went Loose On Hudson
The Coast Guard and partner agencies have beached six barges that broke away from their moored location on the Hudson River. The construction barges were drifting south of the Tappan Zee Bridge on Friday afternoon. The barges were beached in various locations between Dobbs Ferry and Yonkers.
