Bicyclist Critical After Being Struck By SUV In Kings Park
A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a car on Long Island. The wreck happened in Kings Park, near Indian Head Road and Manitou Trail, at around noon Friday, Feb. 28. A 64-year-old Kings Park man was riding his bicycle on the shoulder of the roadway when he was struck by a Lexus SUV driven by a 34-year-old Kings Park woman, Suffolk County Police said. A bicyclist was struck and killed crossing a busy Long Island street during the evening commute. The collision occurred in Miller Place, on Route 25A east of Hunter Avenue, shortly before 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3. Marc Wilke, 51, was riding his bike southbound across Route 25A when he was struck by an eastbound Nissan sedan, Suffolk County Police said. A 36-year-old Central Massachusetts man was hit and killed on I-90 in Worcester County this week, police said. Jayson Bastarache, of Grafton, was struck on the eastbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 98 around 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, Massachusetts State Police said.
