19: Apple Temporarily Closes Stores
Apple is temporary closing all of its retail stores outside of Greater China amid the outbreak of the novel strain of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The stores will be closed through Friday, March 27, CEO Tim Cook said. Online purchases may still be made at apple.com. "In our workplaces and communities, we must do all we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19," Cook said. In addition, Cook said Apple is committing $15M to help with worldwide recovery. Scammers are running a sophisticated scheme warning iPhone users that there has been suspicious activity on their iCloud accounts. The new scam involves fraudsters making phony calls posing as Apple support staff. Lost Apple Watches Recovered In Candlewood Lake
Police officers who were training at Candlewood Lake made a special save this week. While conducting training operations at the lake, members of the Brookfield Police Department unearthed two missing Apple watches under approximately 25 feet of water, police said. Once the watches were located, it was determined that they were still operational, even after being lost at sea for two weeks. The watches have since been returned to their owners, police said.

Thieves Take iPhones, Watches Worth Thousands From Bayonne Store
Police are looking for three people who stole thousands in merchandise from a T-Mobile store in Bayonne Monday afternoon. The three male suspects entered the store at 201 Bayonne Crossings Way around 12:45 p.m. and began browsing. Police said that according to employees, the three suddenly grabbed iPhones and Apple watches from their displays and fled. About $3,500 in merchandise was taken, police said.
